AGA, BALTIMORE CHAPTER

The Baltimore Association of Government Accountant‘s (AGA) serves professionals in the government financial management community by providing quality education; fostering professional development and certification; and supporting standards and research to advance government accountability.

The Baltimore AGA has addressed issues and challenges facing accountability professionals from local, state, and federal governments, as well as private sector organizations. Currently, our range of affordable and convenient professional education opportunities, our well-respected certification program, and our website and periodic newsletters keep members in touch with the latest developments, making the Baltimore Chapter of the AGA the go-to source for government accountability.

The Baltimore Chapter of the AGA is a diverse group of individuals including students, entry-level employees, senior executives and elected officials from the State of Maryland, Baltimore City, Federal agencies and other local and state governments, school districts, colleges and universities, and private firms. Whatever your role in government financial management, the Baltimore Chapter offers a membership package that provides education, training, and tools to help you operate more efficiently and effectively.

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear AGA Baltimore –

Welcome to our 2016-2017 program year!  I am happy to lead as this year’s President.  I would like to express my sincere appreciation for all the support and contributions from our members, board members, and sponsors during our last program year. Without you, AGA Baltimore would not exist, so I encourage you to continue being engaged and clutching the value of your membership.

Our board is currently finalizing the plan for the year so that we have a clear vision of continuing the AGA Baltimore legacy of engaging our members and receiving the AGA Chapter Recognition Award.  We kicked off our new program year to a great start with our opening September training session. We had the opportunity to hear from leaders in the government accounting and financial management community. Updates affecting the government industry as well as other technical accounting/financial topics are important for staying relevant in today’s society.
